The aim of this tour is to provide a fun and different experience of touring the winelands, where tourists will be encouraged to socialise with one another and the winelands' inhabitants in a carefree and relaxed way, whilst taking in the sights and smells of the beautiful surroundings.
Many of the wineries offer fantastic deals and rates on their great wines which are available to all guests on Bikes 'n Wines. This wine can be bought at the various wineries along the way and delivered back to the Eco-village where it can be brought back to Cape Town on the train.
- Duration: 8 hour(s)
- Location: Stellenbosch
The one hour train trip departs from Cape Town station and arrives at the Lynedoch School & Eco-Village just before the Spier Wine Estate. Here, tourists will collect their bicycles and begin cycling a pre-defined route, led by their tour guide.
The tour will consist of tasting at 4 or 5 wine farms with a stop for lunch in-between. Lunch is not included, but you will be provided with a snack pack to keep you going along the way.
The total distance of the tour will span 14-20 km and will be a full-day tour. The cycling is casual and doesn't require spectacular Lance Armstrong fitness levels!
The tour then returns to the Eco-Village where the bikes are returned and guests then make their way back to Cape Town on the train.
