Cape Town hotels and tours

About Us

Cape-Town-Hotels.Travel isn't just a run of the mill online booking portal. Instead, it's focused on supporting the ‘little guys', something that many online portals forget to do. Bed and Breakfasts, Guest Houses and Backpackers make up a huge chunk of the industry, yet they really struggle to market themselves, and that's where we step in. You know, this is the only site where you can actually book township properties!

We also manage the site for the beautiful Cape Winelands. Just one hour from CBD of Cape Town, visit local vineyards in Franschhoek, Wellington, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Montagu (just a bit further). Book with us and we can arrange overnight stays in both Cape Town and Cape Winelands hotels.

The team consists of Nicholen, Peter and Jen. A small but dedicated team of travel enthusiasts.

Nicholen has been passionate about tourism, particularly sustainable tourism since she was a child. (This is handy as she is the head booking operator for Cape-Town-Hotels!) Having studied and worked in Eco Tourism in the Limpopo Province, she brings her expertise with her to Cape Town and leads the charge to list as many 'caring for the destination' products on our site as possible. Nicholen is a big fan of the big city living. If there is a jazz festival in Cape Town, you can be sure to find her sitting in the front row.

Jen has been part of the team since late 2006. Born and raised in Cape Town, she knows her way around like a true local. With a background in Environmental Science and Tourism Management, she has found her perfect niche working with Cape-Town-hotels and ultimately whl.travel. Determined to be vaguely active, Jen has a tendency to sign herself up for random half marathons and cycling races. This means that she has seen obscure parts of Cape Town up close...... for extended periods of time. Don't be fooled though, she has a cultural side too! There isn't a theatre or festival in the Cape that she hasn't been to. If you are in need of recommendations, just ask.

Peter moved to Cape Town in 2000 from Pretoria. He is by far the most artistic member of the Cape-Town-Hotels team. He loves art, design, filmotography and has played drums in some successful Cape Town bands. Like many young men he had a burning desire to see more of the world. He has travelled in Europe and spent some time in America where he learnt that he definitely does not belong in a call center. Even though he loves the outdoors, he is equally inspired when walking through concrete jungle which makes Cape Town the perfect place for him. Peter has recently graduated with a degree in Tourism Management.

Something to keep in mind if you come to visit South Africa and particularly Cape Town, despite being one of the most beautiful destinations in the world, the Western Cape faces a slew of issues that affect the quality of life of its local population. Problems range from the devastation caused by HIV/AIDS and poverty, to the problematic water and electrical shortages that plague the Cape.

Whl.travel has pledged its support to sustainable tourism, so to make sure that we do our bit, the Cape Town office is starting small and tackling our own office. Our first step was to limit waste within our own office, after all we can't expect others to help us if we don't try and lead the way. We don't print things unless we really need to, we always switch appliances and lights off when we are not using them and we limit unnecessary commuting whenever possible. We have recently developed a partnership with Oasis Association. They are an organisation that collects all of your recyclable waste free and charge. All proceeds from the recycled goods help to support men and women who suffer from an intellectual disability. For more information on Oasis Recycling visit their website.
