Green Market Square - Flea Market

Found in the heart of Cape Town City Centre, Green Market Square is probably the best known craft market in Cape Town. If you are looking for souvenirs but don't feel like paying the top prices charged in shopping malls, Green Market Square could be the perfect solution for you. Weird and wonderful bits and pieces are on offer and usually at bargain prices.

Church Street Antique Market (Church Street, City Centre)
Open: 9am-4pm Mon-Sat 
A handful of informal table stalls with antiques and odds and ends.

Constantia Craft Market (Alphen Centre, Main Road, Constantia)
Open: 10am-3pm first weekend and last Saturday of each month. 
A popular market of stallholders with various wares, especially plants, ceramics and handcrafted wood items.

Green Point Flea Market (Green Point Stadium)
Open: 8:30am-6pm Sun and most public holidays. 
African crafts and curios, plastic household goods, etc.

Holistic Lifesyle Fair (Recreation Centre, Corner Station and Lower Mian roads, Observatory) Open: 10am-4pm first Sunday of each month.
Alternative theapies, health food and a general "feel-good" atmosphere.

Hout Bay Craft Market (Hout Bay Village Green, Hout Bay)
Open: 10am-5pm every Sunday. 
Original crafts, food and household items.

Kirstenbosch Craft Market (The Stone Cottages, Rhodes Drive)
Open: 9am-1pm last Sunday of each month Jan-May, Sep-Nov; 2nd and 3rd Sat in December.
Good family market, wooden toys, original crafts.

Milnerton Flea Market (Racecourse Road, Milnerton)
Open: 7am-5pm Sat, Sun.
Flea market style with loads of chance to find junk as well as kitchy items from the old days.

Somerset West Country Craft Market (180 Main Road, Somerset West)
Open: 8am-1pm Sept 24; Oct 16, 30; Nov 13, 27; Dec 4,11,16,18.
Huge park-like space with hundreds of stalls of handiwork and original crafts.

Access Park is bargain hunters dream come true.  There are clothing, food, shoes, health and beauty products, electronic goods, and much more of offer.  You will often find savings of well over 40%!  This is worth a day trip!

Canal Walk

A relatively new shopping centre, Canal Walk has established itself as one of Cape Town's finest! With over 400 hundred stores for you to browse, there is no way you will leave without finding what you came looking for.

Canal Walk also provides plenty of entertainment for the kids. Alongside the 17 Nu Metro Cinemas, MTN Science Centre, there are also frequent exciting events and promotions. There are some great hotels near Century City.

V&A Waterfront

Based around a working harbour, the V&A waterfront has transformed from a dreary dock into vibrant tourist attraction. The vast shopping centre offers tourists all the souvenirs they could ever dream of, as well as a variety of restaurants, bars and boat tours. Keep an eye open for some of the amazing street performers, buskers and live music that you are likely to stumble upon at any time.

Cavendish Square

Cavendish Square is considered to be Cape Town's most elite shopping centre.  Much smaller than the likes of Canal Walk, Tygervalley or the Waterfront, Cavendish focuses on quality rather than quanity.  There are 16 state of the art Ster Kinekor cinemas including a cinema Nouveau (for the more arty movie goer).  There are also a large number of restaurants ranging from take-outs to exclusive sushi restaurants.

Tygervalley Shopping Centre

Tygervalley is the shopping Mecca for those staying in the Northern Suburbs.  There are 273 shops to choose from.  The entertainment centre has a massive big screen which is used for everything from rubgy matches to music videos.  To keep the kids busy, there is a large arcade and a newly built bowling alley
